UltraSuction™ Denture System FAQs

IMPORTANT

The UltraSuction™ Denture System must be fitted professionally into your denture by your Dentist or Dental professional.  Please do not attempt to make repairs, changes or adjustments yourself, as you may damage your denture beyond repair!

The following questions and answers are displayed as provided to us by Dental Professionals.  They reflect the questions commonly asked by patients.

* Please note that we cannot legally reply to requests for medical and dental advice or diagnostic information from the public.

Q:  Can I have the UltraSuction™ Denture System installed on my immediate denture?

A:  Immediate dentures cannot be fitted with the UltraSuction™ System until the bone and tissue have healed sufficiently!  Usually 6-10 months is the average time for the healing process to stabilize itself.  You can then have it installed.

NOTE:  UltraSuction™ is the result of extensive research and laboratory development, and is based on a simple and affordable mechanical principle, easily fitted into both New and Existing dentures.

Q:  How does it work?

A:  A special profiled space is created in the inner side of your denture (suction chamber).  Two tiny UltraSuction™ valves are then inserted into your denture, one each side.  When you wear your denture and bite firmly, the air trapped between your gum and the denture is expelled through the valves.  The result:  a better fit to the gum and a more stable denture, giving you a firm and secure feeling.

To remove your denture, you simply lift it up.  The UltraSuction™ Denture System can be fitted by your Dental Professional on either your existing dentures, or at the same time as the making your new set of dentures.

Q:  Is it right for me?

A:  In general terms, if you wear full dentures, UltraSuction™ Denture System should improve considerably the stability of your dentures, resulting in a firm and secure feeling.

Moreover, in most upper denture cases, with UltraSuction™ Denture System, your Dental Professional may be able to reduce the size of the plastic palate, improving both phonetics and taste.

You should, however always consult your Dental professional who is the best person to advise whether UltraSuction™ Denture System is suitable for you.

Q:  How do I get the UltraSuction™ Denture System fitted into my dentures?

A:  Depending on your location, we can deliver, anywhere in the world, a complete UltraSuction™ Denture System kit directly to  your Dental Practitioner within 5-10 working days. Find a Provider

Ask your Dental Professional to order UltraSuction™ on your behalf through this website, or if you are looking for a Dental Professional you can call OnCore Dental at (360) 841-8426 and we can refer you to a Dental Professional in your area.

Q:  My dentures need relining, so can the UltraSuction™ Denture System be fitted at the same time?

A:  Definitely!  Your Dental Practitioner will be able to take an impression of your gums and fit, for an additional fee, the UltraSuction™ Denture System at the same time as relining your dentures.

Q:  How long would the UltraSuction™ Denture System last?

A:  The UltraSuction™ Denture System valves are made of high grade surgical stainless steel.  They will last for as long as your denture is used.

Q:  I am getting new dentures for the first time.  Should I ask for the UltraSuction™ Denture System to be fitted immediately?

A:  No, not in the beginning!  Various studies conducted in Europe in the early 80′s have shown that wearing dentures for the first time, (immediate dentures) can be as hard as learning how to swim!  Your tissue and bone will need to have time to heal after your extractions are completed.  Usually 6-10 months is needed for healing to take place, depending upon individual’s oral health.

Developing wrong habits in the early stages of denture wearing are the major reasons for malnutrition, resulting from not being able to chew and swallow properly.

Further, there is nothing to stimulate the desire to eat when dentures are unstable. The UltraSuction™ Denture System can be installed after your tissue and bone have had the time to heal properly, when determined by the Dental Professional treating you. The UltraSuction™ Denture System can then be installed at the time a reline is done to the stable environment you now will have.  The installation of the UltraSuction™ System will improve the stability of your dentures after the healing process has been completed, leading to a quicker adjustment to your dentures.

Q:  Once fitted with the UltraSuction™ Denture System, how do I clean my dentures?

A:  You can use a soft brush, as you would normally to clean your dentures.  Running warm water through the visible orifices in the suction chamber and remove any food debris on a daily basis.

OnCore Dental can make available to you an UltraSonic cleaning unit, with 10 months supply of cleaning solution, through the dental office you are seeing, at a very reasonable cost for your daily maintenance program.

We recommend that you visit your Dental Practitioner every 6 months for any changes that my occur and need adjusting or any additional treatment.  Your Dental Practitioner will check your tissue and your denture for a proper fit, open the valves and clean the passages thoroughly, and replace the diaphragms if necessary to maintain the suction required.

Q:  My Dentist suggested 2 implants supporting an over denture as the best solution for my loose lower denture, but it’s very expensive.  Can I use the UltraSuction™ Denture System instead?

A:  Your Dentist is right!  But if you can’t afford to spend the money for that type of procedure, the UltraSuction™ Denture System is another option.  It is much less expensive as an alternative to implants when costs are a major consideration!

Q:  If I use my UltraSuction™ in my denture, will I still need my denture adhesive?

A:  No!  You won’t.  Denture adhesive will only clog the suction passages and make the valves ineffective.  Recent concerns regarding adhesives and its health related issues are being investigated by the FDA for possible health risks to the patients using them.

Q:  What maintenance is required to make sure the system functions properly?

A:  Although denture valves work on a simple mechanical principle, hygiene is the key to their sucess.  Patients should run water through the visible orifices in the suction chamber and remove any food debris on a daily basis.  It is strongly recommended to entrust patients who have manual dexterity with the service key, together with cleaning instructions.

Again, UltraSonic cleaners are available through OnCore Dental to maximize the maintenance of your dentures at a reasonable cost.

Q:  How often should I see my dentist?

A:  You should see the dentist every six months for maintenance and checking your oral health in general.  Your maintenance and upkeep of your denture will give you many years of secured comfort by seeing your dental professional trained in helping you enjoy the comfort you desire.
